    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was really insightful and fun. The event was a week long and I feel very excited everyday. We got the opportunity to try out different challenges (mostly technical), meet current employees, networking with many amazing people. I learned a lot about this company, the work as a software engineer and its culture.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I always feel very valued during my time in the event. We got the opportunity to talk to some senior people in the firm, being introduced with different aspects of the company and learned some new skills in fun ways. The event itself is very well planned, and we were taken very good care of during the event.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The amount of support during the insight event was incredible. While solving the challenges, there were mentors who came over, asked us how we were doing and giving us advice. Also, the recruitment team was doing a superb job. When we asked about recruitment information, they were so patient and helpful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • During my time in the event, I had an insight into the work a software engineer do on a daily basis, learned a lot about the company culture. Hearing from current employees with different backgrounds really gives me an idea of what working in J.P.Morgan will be like, and that really inspired me to join the company.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was super well structured. Everyday was loaded with informative and fun activities, and the activities had a good mix between talks and more practical sessions including challenges and work shadowing. It was great that at the end of each day we will be given the agenda for tomorrow so we will know what to expect.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I felt very welcomed and happy during the spring week. I got the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from different universities and backgrounds, exchanged ideas and learning from each other. All the staff was very nice, approachable and helpful too. Special social events were arranged for us to know people not only from our own division (technology) but also from IB and non-IB divisions.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was only there for the spring week so I have no experience in terms of personal training.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight was extremely helpful. There were two work shadowing events arranged, and both employees were so generous and honest while we ask questions about working time, what's your day-to-day work like and so on. This gives me a very rounded and deep understanding of what it would be like to have a full-time role with the company.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Through the talks on diversity and talking to different people from different positions, I can feel the diverse, inclusive and supportive environment they have.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was extremely useful in terms of helping me decide my future path. The work shadowing enabled me to talk to people who were at the same shoes as us (university students) several years ago, and are currently working as software engineers from different teams. They showed us their day to day work and their experience.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed and catered.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were plenty of networking events. We had several opportunities to talk to people from senior positions and recent graduates, and that was really insightful.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • It was literally one of the best experience in the event. Everyday we were put into different teams, which gave us chances to talk to loads of different people from different backgrounds. Also, there were social event where we can talk to people from other divisions (IB and non-IB) instead of just within the technology stream, which was really fun.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. We were introduced about their volunteering opportunities and I was very excited about this.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes 100%. This is one of the best opportunities for people who are thinking of doing technology related jobs in an investment bank. This event was so insightful and it really gives you an idea of what to expect from working in J.P.Morgan. Also you will have a great opportunity to socialise with amazing people.
