The Role
It really gave me an insight in to what I want to be doing once I graduate next year, it was worthwhile and an invaluable experience.
My colleagues were really helpful throughout my time there, from starting off and to leaving, they really made me feel welcome and helped me at any point if I needed it.
When I started I was assigned a mentor, he really helped me progress throughout my time at the company, and was very helpful and supporting.
I had a good balance of work, I always had something to do, sometimes work was a little slow, but most of the time I was pre-occupied and working on more than one problem.
I was given more responsibility than I expected, which was a nice surprise, I actually had valuable input and helped with designs.
As I said before, what I learnt at my placement was invaluable and a really worhtwhile, and I know they have and will really help in my studies this year and in the future.
The Company
It was a really friendly, yet productive atmosphere, I felt I could really get my work done, but also have a laugh too. I really enjoyed my time.
There were some issues at the start, for instance I had agreed a start date with the company, but then a few weeks before hand I hadn't heard a thing from them and began to get worried, eventually it was all sorted out and my time there everything was really well organised.
The company are really trying to help you advance, after my placement they have sponsored me to do my MSc course, so they have really put a lot behind me and they really encouraged us to go to national society meetings, which were great.

They are sponsoring me on an MSc and then employing me after.
The Culture
There was only one other person who was on a placement with me at the time, but there was a pretty good social scene with everyone, we all went out to lunch once a week, and I know if I was around longer I would have had the chance to go on some nights out too!
Living in Rugby is very reasonable, it is pretty cheap compared to most places, and socialising seemed to be the normal expected price, so I can't complain.
I didn't go out much while I was on my placement, to be honest there isn't a great deal to do in Rugby, but there are other cities close by, and we ventured to London a few times to go to meetings, which we could have turned in to a night out.
There were quite a few, while I was there they had a squash ladder set up and were beggining to make up a football team too, which they were more than happy to let me try and take part in, and I'm sure there were other opportunities I could have got involved if I was there for longer.
