The Role
Extremely beneficial in terms of strengthening University knowledge with real practical experience, and great opportunity to earn some money and make contacts for your future career.
As the company is founded on project based work, you very quickly become part of a team, and if you show initiative - can create a position for yourself that others within the team will value.
The construction industry has a reputation for testing you with a sink or swim approach, it can be daunting coming from a University setting, however it does force you to realize your own ability.
Mainly a good balance, always plenty to do (occasionally perhaps to higher demand) - but always a variety of tasks to keep work stimulating.
By the end of the year, similar levels of responsibility to other members of the permanent team.
already proving a massive help!
The Company
highly pressurized, and not a great deal of social interaction
half and half - the beginning and end were very well managed, however contact was lost with any form of placement structure during the middle months - simply working as part of the team. (good and bad)
involved in outside training, and given every chance to attend internal workshops and conferences
Company Car
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
90% sure of a job, however due to current industry situation - cannot be totally sure! - secured very good sponsorship!
The Culture
not great!
