4.2/5
Really enjoyed getting to know the firm and the different people who worked there. Work experience in particular - on two occasions - was great and a good insight into the sort of work trainees undertook.
Felt valued - in the Easter week, was pleasantly surprised by the social evening to the Ping Pong club and lots of support given over the scheme.
Lots of support when at A&O, but no contact from mentor outside of the scheme.
Now have much clearer view on career I wish to follow - feel valued to be one of over a thousand picked for 40-member A&O First scheme. Clearer understanding of what commercial lawyers and ones at A&O, in particular, do.
Well structured. General presentation and application tips are always good, but always liked the partners panel and the informal events such as trainees at different tables speaking to us about their different divisions. Having the ability to shadow trainee was really useful.
Super friendly and engaging; very supportive and helpful. Genuine feeling that this would be a great place to work and I could work with the people in the firm.
Lots of investment given to us - not only were we given three days at the firm's offices, but they paid all expenses and supplied hotels for others who did not live within commuting distance of London. Also gifted a Kindle Fire, which was a great surprise and super useful.
Completely - work shadowing was very helpful, as were the panel and trainee talks.
Useful - it was clear that the firm was very friendly and approachable, whilst still challenging and expecting hard work.
Very helpful - allowed me to understand in greater detail what A&O, a&o trainees, a&o lawyers and a&o divisions do.
Yes - train fares, and gifted with kindle fire - nice surprise.
Lots - was shown around various offices in the firm and met a number of trainees and associates.
excellent - liked the ping pong club on the monday night.
yes - heard lots about sports team and socials, but also charity - warchild et al.
absolutely - really enjoyable and helped me understand the firm's culture and what it stands for.
