The Role
I enjoyed the placement at my University as the subject and work experience I chose was something I enjoyed learning as a subject which was Marketing. The role had given me a great insight on what a marketing role could consist of in the real world such as competitor analysis.
My colleague were mature and some I knew as they were my lecturers I was a research assistant. My job was to update spreadsheets on excel and to find information on other Universities with similar business courses and find out what they are doing differently to my university. My colleagues were helpful and understanding.
I was given a huge amount of guidance I was told and given through intructions on what I needed to research I was sat in a office with my supervisor who helped with anything I needed.
I was constantly busy as I had to update a lot of spreadsheets on excel and add new information to the spreadsheets. I had to constantly go to university websites and find relevant information and up to date information.
I was given a huge amount of responsibility. Such as updating previous databases created by previous students and i also had to create more and had to make sure all information within the database was up to date, relevant and correct.
I learnt skills such as how to use Microsoft programmes such as excel which helped me during my accounting module.
The Company
The office was really mature and relaxed which made my experience easier.
The placement itself was well organised however the assignments we had to write after the placement was over was gruelling.
They gave me a lot of guidance and helped me through what i needed to do and i asked for a lot of help which they gave me. I fell ill during my time there they supported me all the way.
Flexi Time
Working from home
I dont think I will apply here so I couldn't help.
The Culture
I collaborated with another student during a project we help each other with work and managed to meet a deadline which was great.
I lived at home so I wouldn't know.
I wouldn't know as I went home straightaway after work finished.
