    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed going to work everyday - however I worked in research and this is not my first choice

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I got on really well with all of my colleagues, and was given a lot of responsibility

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was fantastic, when I first joined the company I was given plenty of time to settle in and gain an understanding of how the company ran. The rest of my team were so helpful throughout the year too.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Towards the end of my placement the work dried up a bit I think for 2 main reasons: 1. I was no longer going to be able to see a project through from start to finish, and 2: I extended my placement twice and was therefore there, a lot longer than planned.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted to hold my own meetings, attend research agencies and focus groups on behalf of Aviva which was a big confident boost.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I realised how much I could get done in a 9-5 day! Completely changed my work ethic.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a mixed atmosphere, but a healthy balance of work and chat!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was plenty for me to get on with as soon as I was ready and no problems encountered.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I took part in general training in which every employee must go through but nothing out of the ordinary.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Financial Bonus

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I believe there would be a chance for me but I am taking a different career direction!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were no other placement students to my knowledge but my team did socialise out of work a lot.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was in Norwich where in my opinion rent was pretty cheap! The office was also right in the city centre and the shopping was great!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There's plenty of bars, pubs and clubs in Norwich - busy night life with the UEA round the corner.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were various charity events held by Aviva and tickets available for company sponsored rugby and football games.

    5/5
