The Role
I learnt so much, at times it was hard work but it was so worth it.
I felt extremely valued and respected by my colleagues. When ever I needed it they helped me and supported me.
I had regular meetings with my manager who gave me huge support when I needed it. My manager was able to point me in the right direction, and helped me improve on the areas that needed improving.
At times I was extremely busy (project implementation stage) but if it ever got too much my manager would offer support or take away any work that didn't need to be completed immediately.
Once I had built up my knowledge and the trust of my manager I was allowed to run my own projects.
Not only have I got an improved work ethic for my final year I also have learnt skills that will be invaluable in the work place when I graduate.
The Company
It was a good balance of hard work but friendly and happy environment.
My manager had never managed a work placement student before so it took some learning from both of us. However it was organised well and was a brilliant placement.
My manager invested a lot of time in developing my knowledge and skills within the company. I didn't complete any additional training outside the company, however I feel I still developed a huge amount.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
If a position is available once I graduate I have been offered the job without having to reapply etc.
The Culture
There were only 2 placements students at the time. However we did go out a few times with our colleagues.
I stayed in the same university town, so living was the same cost as being a student.
Again I lived in a university town!
We socialised a few times outside of work.
