  • Overall a very enjoyable experience.

    4/5

  • I felt very valued by my colleagues.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Varies wildly; not much of a common standard across the Office. In my experience line management has been good, but I could've just gotten lucky.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were things to do, but maybe not enough.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot of it came from me going out and asking for things to do myself.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Some were skills I already had, but at least now I have concrete examples of workplace skills.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very laid-back. So many cakes and chocolates on a near-daily basis!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Good, could've been better. Seemed to start off strong and then weakened over the year.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They were willing to give me whatever I could justify really.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, particularly for economists.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Decent, though I didn't interact with fellow students so much as with permanent colleagues.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Cardiff is affordable for a big city.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Unsure, didn't really get involved.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Some opportunities to get involved outside of work, though obviously more targeted at the permanent staff.

    4/5
