    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • My two-week insight into the Investment Management Division was a hugely enriching experience and clarified my desire to work within this industry. I felt thoroughly rewarded with the quantity and quality of each presentation and workshop delivered to us by the end of the internship.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • With there being solely 15 interns within my division, each individual was given the opportunity to play to their strengths and stand out in their own unique ways. Moreover, each intern was allocated a desk so that we were able to fully immerse ourselves in each individual team environment.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We were given as much guidance and support that was necessary during the internship, however a large part of the experience was to go out and search for a solution for a particular problem with your own intuition, with these rewards being the most satisfying.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not only will the skills I have developed assist me during my summer internship of 2020, but they will also allow me to understand the varying team dynamics in the workplace once I have left university and to know that despite potential setbacks, there will always be a solution if you work hard to achieve your goal.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • There was the perfect balance between presentations, workshops, desk time and networking with current employees and fellow interns. The attribution of a 'buddy' was also thoroughly useful and presented a reassuring figure for the duration of the internship.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was intense, fast-paced and animated, with no time to waste. This is an ambience that I thoroughly enjoy, as it pushes you and your fellow interns to produce your best possible work for the firm. It is a form of healthy competition.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm made sure that every intern had a significant role in their quotidien routine, and that we were fully incorporated into the culture of the office, with no exceptions.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The sheer quantity of talks that we attended, with the speakers ranging from Partners to Former Interns, there was no aspect of the firm that was not covered. We also had speakers come from New York who provided an insight into the ambience of the office headquarters.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Everywhere I went, I heard a different language being spoken or an accent that was not English. This was a key part of our enriching experience - we were exposed to cultures that were not solely our own, which pushed us to formulate opinions with a more open perspective.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Every day was different, which was a reflection of how the colleagues described their work routine. This is something which I find exciting and stimulating.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We had ample opportunities to network with other employees of the firm; during both our breaks as well as concrete events.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Every intern had the opportunity to talk to someone who they had researched before and to whom they were prepared to ask questions.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had many talks on fitness, women's businesses, diversity campaigns and charities, which provided evidence of the uniqueness of this firm.
