    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the spring week a lot because they did a great job of integrating fun but challenging events. During the day the events were also structured in a way where we have to collaborate with some of the other attendees and at night we would have a social event.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The company did a great job in making us feel as welcome as their employees and never treated us indifferent to an employee, in the sense that we could use the company facilities and equipment as long as it didn't affect the company negatively. They also treated each of us with the same amount of respect and understood that everyone is different with different strengths and weaknesses.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We were never short on guidance because for each event or challenge they would provide you with a mentor and the mentor will help by giving you insight or guidance as to what you are supposed to do but not always giving you the answer to the problem without you stating the solution first.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed and information I received taught me that you need to carve out your own path and that no one is going to do it for you. You will only progress in your career if you take charge of your own career and seek help from others when you need some insight.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight week was very organised and structured. There was never a time where we were just wasting time or idle. Every day was filled with events that followed each other on a well laid out and planned schedule.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • All of the people and employees I met at the insight week were full of passion and drive. All of the employees seemed to have boundless energy and excitement for their company and all of them said they love their work and company without giving it a second thought.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company put a lot of effort and thought into not only making the insight week fun and exciting but also in how they could help us develop or improve on certain skills that would not only help us in our degree programs but also in our careers after our studies have ended.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The company's atmosphere was like no other company that I have been to before and I would very willingly go back just to experience the energy and excitement of the people at the company. The company has also helped me understand what exactly it is that they do and what services they provide to their customers.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight week showed me how closely knit the employees were and how they formed a larger team within the company. The reason I believe it to be this way is because the employees have similar interests and they love what they do and the company they do it for.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content and events we did during the day along with the shadowing of current employees really helped me to understand what it is that someone new to the company would be doing. The company also made sure that we meet up with some of the senior employees of the company and this also helped to show what a senior position in the company would be like.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • They reimbursed me for all of the travel costs that I had and also provided me with accommodation during the course of the insight week.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I had the chance to attend two networking events and both times there were senior employees at the event. On the first day we also got to meet the executive director of the branch and had the privilege of attending a lecture he gave. These were only some of the chances provided to us to meet other employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There were multiple networking a social events and this gave us multiple oppertunities to do a bit of networking with the employees of the company and the social events organised gave us the oppertunity to socialize with other people with the same interests but with different backgrounds whilst doing fun, creative and sometimes challenging activities.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • All of the employees I asked were aware of activities you could get involved in outside of work and it seemed like the company actually encourages their employees to get involved with work outside of the company as it further developes them and it gives them the chance to do something they are interested in.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight week to a friend as it further developes your skills not only for your degree programme but it also helps with getting you to realise what you need to do in your career to achieve or reach the point that you are aiming for.
