The Role
I worked in a hotel and did various jobs throughout the hotel. some days were bad but overall the experience was fantastic and i had a great time!
some departments i felt very valued in and others not so much. the supervisors valued you but the managers sometimes didnt.
support and guidance by supervisors not so much management
depending on the time of year the hotel could be really busy or really quiet so sometime you were really busy and other times you were really quiet
quite a lot actually. the hotel knew i wud definetly be there for a year so i got quite a bit of responsibility. the hotel has a high turnover of staff so staff that were quaranteed to stay for a while were given responsibility.
i wouldnt say they are going to asssit me in my final year but beyond that they will be very useful as i am going to work in another hotel after i graduate
The Company
it was generaly fun although it could get stressful occassionally!
well organised. i didnt get the placement through the university i did it by myself through emails and phone calls.
They didnt invset moneywise but they did let me move departmentsso i gained experience in lots of different departments in the hotel

The Culture
there was only two of us there that were students. i have made friends for life thou. it was a great place to live and work and the social scene was great.
i lived in staff accommodation and that was cheap and came off my wages so i never had to worry about that or bills or anything. its very cheap to live there. food and drink is really cheap and the hotel organised a lot of actiivities that they made cheap for us.
really good. banff is one big party town. it is a very transient place so there is always lots of people from all over the world passing through.
lots and lots. something was always goin on in banff. there are lots of outdoor activities like skiing, snowboarding, walks, hikes, canoeing, white water rafting etc. there was always somthing goin on in banff.
