    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • It was an incredible insight into what HSF does, and I really enjoyed sitting in the same room as my supervisor and working on stuff that a trainee does.

    • I was given really interesting research work and other work

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • My supervisors were extremely approachable and I could always ask them questions, and clarify the scope of work. In addition, there were always people I could turn to when I was stuck.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I got an insight into what the client wants, and how to deliver it. By sitting in on client calls, getting feedback on research notes etc.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • There were talks about the different firm departments every day, and you are assigned a supervisor and trainee in each seat.

    • Everyone was really friendly, and ready to answer questions.

    • HSF invested so much -departmental talks, socials, Christmas parties and drinks.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • I was assigned work which a trainee would normally get - it gives an unparalleled insight.

    • You overhear conversations e.g. listen to people talk to your supervisor, so you get to see and hear beyond the image that the firm tries to portray.

    • It gives a good picture of what working in HSF is like.

    • Loads of socials

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?

    • Generally well-organised, a lot of drinks sessions, great for mingling and chatting to people - even more senior lawyers

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • Not particularly. I was invited to join the choir for a Christmas carols concert but they don't really tell you as a general policy- which makes sense because the winter vacation scheme is only 2 weeks
