The Role
I absolutely loved it so far, have a couple of weeks to go. I got onto site, been involved with all kinds of socials - really easy to meet with different levels of management - and worked on interesting things that actually started to make a change. Very opened workplace for everyone, enjoyed it a lot.
Very much so, as the openness of the company comes through just really very easily, you do feel valued after a couple of weeks of work - just make sure that what you do is up to the standards. You can learn a lot from your colleagues which helps in
Not only from my line manager, but all the staff were helpful in developing skills and allowing me to learn as much as possible. It was great to feel the support coming from the management, and even from higher, directorial levels - they are indeed interested and want to help you develop.
For an intern, 2 meetings/day is fair to say I participated in, which fed my day up with tasks for the day throughout. This developed in time - got responsibilities during meetings (agenda, meeting minutes, action logs and action chasings). It is great to say that there was no dull day as the management wants you to be involved and busy - you do have to be interested though.
The responsibility that you would normally get as an intern. The work I gave out was always triple checked by me and the managers to make sure it is up to the standards and can be forwarded to the client with confidence. It was important that people saw I am interested, but even more important was the skill of quick learning and being quality focused.
Most of them are more to do with the job itself and not necessarily uni. It is great to know how other grads and young people are doing, but also important to know to pay attention to the relevant info that feeds the studies and work too. Very good experience for work, relevant for uni too.
The Company
Very good indeed, big open plan office where hot desking is really used to its best - no one sits in exactly the same spot but can still find every one. Nice location, nice people, good facilities, modern IT and loads of meeting rooms which are probably the best thing about the office. The rooftop is of course great on a Friday night.
I just came into an assistant project manager role, which is much better than a single, structured internship for many reasons. Much more exposure to real issues in real projects with real people, good atmosphere and reliability - what I worked on had to be brought up to the client`s high quality which helped me understand how the real world really works in this role.
Lot of information on the projects, very good client and employee care- probably the best things about the trainings. CSCS is a requirement as other Health and Safety ones but there are a lot of other training opportunities to go for it just all depends on what one is interested in really. It is worth asking for as the trainings are good and give accreditations for certain professional things.

Would love to work for this company, not a question. Very good projects, atmosphere, openness and hard work is all there to keep one busy but make work enjoyable. It is a huge company to work for, very good quality work is produced by them and the reputation is great in the industry, so would really like to come back.
The Culture
A lot not just one. Sports, drinks, dinners everything one would need to socialise is there. Very easy to meet with people, even easier to stay in touch with them as people are always running about on site and in the office where it is easy to catch up - how was the last football tournament or corporate games event. Very social indeed this company.
London. It will always be expensive to live in, eat out or go d=for drinks is even more expensive. Travel will hurt also but at the end it is all worth it as again - very nice people, social people and good projects to travel for. It is expensive, but it is even more fun. Renting in London is quite expensive too, so be careful where you get your flat, you might want to live outside of the centre and travel in too.
Very busy, as the office is in the centre and people after work do want to get out and be sociable - so there is no question about the good nightlife in London. Loads of clubs, pubs, theatres, pingpong bars etc to make your Friday good, and get some friends from work to go out with. Easy, fast and fun really.
Of course, Corporate social responsibility, sport events, all sorts of social events as mentioned, dinners and work related clubs to join. Very easy to meet with people in these clubs, to train own skills and get some experience in other fields - keep in mind that these are after work responsibilities, so you have to balance work with these clubs.
