The Role
With the variety of tasks i was involved in there were some major highs and lows. Some days were great others dragged, but thats what working lifes like.
I had a great team of people to work with. The entire company has welcoming atmosphere however it will obviously vary between locations.
Several other managers in my store had been through the management training and knew how much help i would need.
Really busy, always lots to do.
Once i were ready (maybe even before) i was given plenty of responsability. Just before i left i had 4 managers and around 80 staff working for me.
Skills for life- everything from time to people management.
The Company
Bit serious and proffesional but with a reputation like M&S has its to be expected.
Being one of the top graduate employers they knew exactly what was happening all the time.
My development came before anything else.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I plan to return after graduating.
The Culture
I was the only placement student, the other staff were a good laugh though.
Glasgow has a great range of upmarket and value establishments.
There is a great nightlife in Glasgow, great student bars & clubs.
