I really had a great time on the Winter Vac Scheme it was a whistle-stop of the firm and all its departments and it was really interesting to discover more about the daily work of a commercial lawyer.
I felt really valued during my time with A&O. I was included by all the team members in the seat I was in for the week and always got thankful and positive responses from people I did work for.
The graduate recruitment team make you feel super supported and nothing is too much trouble. You are also assigned a trainer (associate) and a buddy (trainee) who you get to know really well and can ask lots of questions
I am a non-law student so it wasn't really relevant to my degree, but the experience did affirm my desire to go into the legal profession after graduation.
It was a perfect balance of informative and insightful talks as well as unscheduled time which allowed vac schemers to really get involved in the work of their practice area
The atmosphere throughout was really collaborative, supportive and fun. There was a great spirit amongst the vac schemers
I feel the company really invested in me, however it was a short time period of only a week so I feel had I been there longer I would've been able to respond better to this question.
I definitely have taken away from the week a really detailed understanding of the people, work and culture of A&O to a greater extent than I anticipated given such a short programme.
Really well as we were embedded with a sub-team of a practice area for the week we were there so we could understand how the teams worked.
Really valuable!
I was paid generously for my work on this placement
So many - drinks with future trainees, dinner with partners, speed dating of different practice areas
Really good we had dinner with partners at The Dorchester!
Yes there are a plethora of different sports teams and I also attended a choir practice.
100%!!
