    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • We were given the opportunity to carry out a project to help the less fortunate in the society. It was an eye-opening experience to witness the living and study condition of the refugee children and I was touched by the enthusiasm and happiness of each child in the room. I learnt a lot about the planning and execution of the entire project.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt especially valued when the children were reluctant to let us go after we had completed our project. They thanked us for imparting some skills into them and helping them to create a more conducive environment to study. They cheered and laughed with us when we were teaching them. They even requested us to eat and play with them.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Khazanah was very supportive of all our ideas and gave us moral and financial support along the way. The facilitators were awesome as well. The manager provided us with a deep insight into the history of their country and gave us some suggestions of ideas for our project. He was also very supportive of what we did.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It is especially important for us to be able to empathize with the people around us. We should not be arrogant and become indifferent towards the issues that are happening around us daily. We should always do our best to help the less fortunate so that they will feel that they are part of this big family.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was planned long time ago by the Human Capital. It was similar to the structure last year. It was very well structured as we did not experience much problem throughout the entire insights. It was definitely time consuming for them to plan and liaise with the people in charge of each organisation respectively.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was an amazing experience having to work with people of different races and nationalities. We also managed to get the opportunity to interact with the refugee face to face and speak to them about our experiences and listen to their grievances. All of us worked harmoniously together to achieve our common goal.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Khazanah invests an enormous amount of money in each scholar. The main aim is to get the scholars to contribute back to the society after they have graduated from university. They support us financially in terms of academic and personal training. They never failed to remind us to contribute back to our country.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • 3/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • 3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It is important to choose a career that suits my passion and enthusiasm. I should not be motivated solely by the monetary return that I will get from my job. After we become successful in life, we should always contribute back to the society and help the needy or the less fortunate.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • All our expenses to and fro from the event was reimbursed fully by Khazanah. They did not expect us to spend a single cent using our own pocket money. They paid us back for all our expenses after the insight. During the few days of the insight, we were provided accommodation and transport so that everyone did not have to spend extra money.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • 3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes definitely. It is not easy to gain such experience in school or work. It is definitely worth exploring when we are given the opportunity. Having a first hand experience is always different from listening to the experiences from others. Besides, we should not look down on others who are deemed to be lower in their 'social status' as compared to us.
