The Role
The placement was an eye opener for technology in the finance industry.
My colleagues valued my inputs to the standing issues and let me have near complete ownership over my project.
The manager was perhaps the best support in my experience and really helped me grow and learn more in my short time.
The usual work hours are 9-6, but honestly it's more about getting your work done and supporting the team whenever possible.
I had near complete ownership of my project. As part of a team of 4 interns, we started from zero and finally deployed a software product and presented to the global team.
I have learnt a lot about production ready JS testing, how software QA is done in large organisation and production management.
The Company
People are very friendly and helpful. GS values teamwork above most things. Everyone has a 'can-do' attitude.
Nearly perfect. The interviews, offers, initial training, introduction, regular networking sessions and community team work were handled very professionally.
GS is particularly good at this during the placement. You appreciate all the trainings you have near the end when you realise you've truly changed how you work and behave in a productive environment.

One sentence - If you are offered a grad job in GS technology, take it!
The Culture
The other interns were really friendly and like minded. They motivate you to do even better at GS.
London is not cheap! Specially when you're still a student. Make sure to save up some money for next year.
Probably the best nightlife in the UK!
You get to do a mandatory community work. It's a lot of fun, outdoors (generally) and get to spend a day helping others (usually charities).
