    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really enjoyable experience and learnt a lot over the program. Got a lot of exposure to the division and the specific role. Was given a lot of responsibility from the start and a lot of access to different resources, which has really helped me learn and improve. As the program is 10 weeks you also get to know the other interns really well which was another aspect that i really enjoyed as we were able to support and help each other throughout the program.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Given a lot of responsibility and everyone was willing to give me a lot of their time. I believe people really invested in me and gave me a lot of their time enabling me to learn and improve over the 10 weeks. My team always gave me useful tasks for both me (to learn) and for them (to get a job done).

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Really good. The people that i worked with were always willing to help and give me their time. Outside of this, the other employees were always really friendly and valued my opinion, and were also really willing to sit down with me if i had questions or needed further help. The mentors that i was provided with were very attentive and supportive and provided me with great advice for the program and for my future.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy and i did work long days. However, due to the fact that i always had tasks to do or research to read, the days went by really quickly and it never felt like i was working extremely long hours as i really enjoyed the role i was in. There is always something to work on, and reading you could read, but that is because of the wide range of resources that interns have access too!

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was giving a substantial amount of responsibility from the start, which really enabled me to improve and learn quickly. This is something that really surprised me and i really enjoyed about the program, as it meant that my technical knowledge and attention to detail improved quicker than i had expected.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The program has been invaluable, the skills learnt and progress made will really help me with my future career prospects. For that reason alone i would highly recommend the program, i had no idea i would learn as much as i did in such a short amount of time. With my degree, the technical knowledge will be less relevant, but all the soft skills that i have developed will be beneficial for my final year. It has been a really useful experience and i would highly recommend it.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Really well organised - lots of sessions from different people at all levels - and from different divisions which enabled us to get greater insight on the firm as a whole.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think the firm really invests in you as an individual, providing you with a lot of time and a wide range of resources. Everyone was always willing to give me their time to help me improve and progress along the internship.

  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    Healthcare/Dental

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, i would love the opportunity to have future prospects with the firm. It was a great experience and i learnt so much in a short amount of time and think i would really progress quickly and develop/improve at a fast pace.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We all got on really well, it was hard to organise catch ups that often due to working different hours/having different deadlines but when we did it was always really good and lots of fun.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was lucky enough that i was able to stay at home so i did not have to pay rent but from speaking to the other interns rent is so expensive, but that is to be expected with London. Additionally, costs of socialising was not too expensive and in line with expected london prices.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of nice bars around that are always pretty busy.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Opportunities for sports teams were available and seemed welcoming, also lots of affinity networks. Also charity opportunities with the CTW, which was a good day and a good opportunity to give back.

    4/5
