The Role
Your experience is what you make it - there is always something to join in with you just need to be ready to put yourself out there. Overall, I had a great experience and gained a strong network of colleague and friends
Regular reviews and catch ups allowed me to know how i was doing and my colleagues opinions in a constructive manner.
Management are always happy to take time out and catch up with interns, managers are also happy to give feedback when requested if you have been working on projects with them.
Roles vary widely across the firm, with my first role being extremely busy and very fast paced but after rotation I was in a team that was half BAU and half projects.
Responsibility is given to all interns immediately, this will grow as you prove yourself and your capabilities to ensure you aren't overloaded.
GS has allowed me to present, train and lead projects. This skills learnt and workshops available mean you are able to constantly grow within your placement year
The Company
Office atmosphere was friendly but fast paced - you are encouraged to be yourself
After summer interns leave, the work placement is quite an independent programme as you take on the responsibility of an analyst
The firm is willing to invest in you - you just have to seek and ask for the opportunities.

Company Parties/Events
The Culture
There are a few firm arranged intern events and these stop once the summer interns leave. Most people socialised with their teams as opposed to other interns - there is a good social scene amongst teams and sub divisions
