    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Best Internship I have ever had, I would highly recommend all future students interested in property / real estate to apply for the JLL internship as it has developed both my technical and soft skills that I will not only use during my career but also in life in general.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Felt very valued by my colleagues. I was in the strategic development consultancy department which consisted of only 4 people. This meant I was kept busy as there was a lot to do and not enough people to do it and the work I was doing was used in reports for clients and I was able to see my hard work paying off.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support and guidance by management when required. Everything that was expected of me during tasks was fully explained so I knew exactly what I had to do and if I got stuck or didn't understand a task everyone in the team was happy to help me out.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busy on a daily basis as the team was small in numbers but this gave me the chance to take on more responsibility and learn more at JLL and increase both my technical skills and commercial awareness in real estate.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Similarly to the previous question, due to the team being small I was given quite a lot of responsibility and the tasks I undertook were important in the running of projects and were presented to clients. This responsibility allowed me to develop my skills at JLL.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills I learned at JLL will be very beneficial to me during my last year of studies, property career and life in general. This is because it taught me technical skills specific to real estate and also soft skills such as presentation / communication skills which will help me in any career path and in life.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was very friendly and everyone was happy to be at work. Despite being focused on work employees were still having a good time with a lot of jokes flying around the office.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well set up the HR staff was very well organised and there wasn't a time during the internship where I didn't know what was going on or there wasn't something planned for me to do.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think the firm invested a lot in me to help development myself and give me a proper insight into the real estate industry. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and gave me tips on how to improve myself and get a better understanding of the industry.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing I would very much like to join JLL full time with a graduate role and have been fast tracked to the assessment centre which is the final stage of graduate recruitment.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Very good social scene as we were taken out on a social on our very first day which gave all of the fellow interns a chance to get to know each other and build networks. This was also common throughout the internship as there were many chances to socialise with other employees during both in your lunch hour, and out of office hours.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The office is based in Warwick Street in the West End but because I'm a Londoner born and raised I was used to the prices but interns from outside of London found it pretty expensive when comparing it to their hometowns.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good nightlife, a variety of places to choose from depending on your personality.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes there were many opportunities as the firm has many sports teams and societies within the firm and also activities with people from different firms. For example: The JLL triathlon occurred while I was on my internship where individuals from all over the property industry were involved.
