    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • An invaluable experience which gave me a fantastic insight to many different areas of the business. I was able to shadow people in many different departments and add to my network of contacts.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They were all very helpful and always had time for me. If I ever needed help they would stop what they were doing and would never turn me away. They even went as far as arranging a leaving lunch and night out for me.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management gave me excellent advice throughout the program that I will carry through life. Instructions and objectives were clear.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was kept busy most days. When the team was extremely busy, I didn't want to add to their workload, having to explain a task to me so I reached out to people on other departments to see if there was anything they needed picked up.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given full responsibility for myself. I decided when I took my lunch, and wasn't 'checked up on' all the time. I always met deadlines and therefore was left to manage my own time which I enjoyed.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learned a number of things that a textbook could never teach. Not only about the job and the line of business but about business etiquette and developing relationships.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • We had non-uniform days on Fridays and people were regularly bringing in treats.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a structured program designed by head office which included a series of dial-ins and periodic reviews.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was able to attend a number of training courses on site, listened to several dial-ins and had access to all online training resources.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is a good graduate scheme

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, there were a lot of night outs arranged.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was reasonable as I already rent a flat in the area.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We had a leaving night for me and for another guy who left

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, there are a number of charity events.

    3/5
