    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the work I was given.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My project got extended which meant that my project would be used by other departments as well as mine. Where the members of my team were depending on my project to produce results.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager gave me the right guidance and help without helping me too much. So pointing me in the right direction when necessary but never giving me the answers.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had work to keep me busy most days, but still felt as if I could have had more as some days I felt myself procrastinating.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was given some responsibilty in the fact that I had to get on by myself, but because of the ambiguity of the spec, I was having to rely on other people to give me answers or do something for my project.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • You are only taught the general ins and outs of stuff at univeristy, where the work which I was taking required specific knowledge. So I was able to use my base knowledge and it wasn't very difficult to adapt to what was required. I am not sure how much my trainding and developed skills will help me alot at university, but will definitely help once I leave and start working full time.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Quiet and no-one really talks to eachother.

    1/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall placement was set up well with loads of opporunities to network throughout the internship.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had to undergo alot of training about the company, however most of it seemed repetive and redundant. No specific technical training was provided, we had to learn as we went along.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would enjoy the work I did throughout my placement, but it would run smoother if I was fully informed about the project and knew exactly what had to be done.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were quite a few events put on for the interns which gave us a chance to meet oneanother. And then the interns organised their own events when there was nothing already planned.

    0/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive, as it's central London. Spent of my internship money on travel and living costs.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It was alright, but expensive and a hassle to get home after as the last train is only midnight.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Definitely, there were events on weekly to give us the opportunity to do somethign outside of work.

    4/5
