The Role
My internship was enjoyable. Person highlights include the varied role, business trips and social aspects both with my team and the other interns at Verizon.
Of course this will vary person to person but as a whole I felt valued and was rarely asked to do anything that didn't contribute to my development.
How much support I was given really depended on how busy my supervisors were but where I really needed it I always got it.
My workload fluctuated massively throughout the year but I would say overall was a good balance
Once I had learnt the ropes I was given a lot of responsibility.
The skills I have developed will help me going forward into a career in both technology and sales.
The Company
The atmosphere varies massively depending on how busy the office is. Frequent engagement events with HR make for a better atmosphere.
The set up of the placement was great with the opportunity to get involved in raising money for charity and community outreach programmes. There were also frequent Q&A meetings with the interns and senior management which offered great insights and exposure to the all aspects of the business.
There are loads of opportunity for training courses available both online and in classroom focusing on general skills and role specific skills. The two day course '7 habits of highly effective people' being a highlight.

The Culture
We all got on very well as a group and arranged quite a few socials outside of work.
Reading is very good for restaurants but outside of that has a pretty dull nightlife unless you get involved with the student scene.
I played five a side football with a group from work every week.
