About You
Very insightful and learnt a lot about what investment bankers do from day to day.
All the Goldman Sachs staff were resepctful and eager to help. However, we did not actually contribute towards the firms work, with our projects being based on old deals. That being said, one particular project was very well recieved by the firm.
We had a good support system through our buddies and often had staff around during our free periods that we could ask for advice. The HCM team also helped us and had an explicit timetable which was easy to follow.
Even though I study economics I learnt a lot about finance and feel that everyone there learnt a lot.
The Company
The firm provided us with a comprehensive support system, helping us through buddies, mentors, and relevant bankers to the product group, resulting in us never feeling lost.
Due to us not actually going onto the floor it was always going to be difficult to accurately portray banking, but I did learn a lot about the real job from speaking to people and working on projects.
It confirmed that banking is the career I want to pursue. I had done over insights previously but this was far more in-depth and specialised in my preferred division.
Everything Else
Numerous networking events and free time in which we could schedule meetings with workers within the bank.
