About You
Awesome experience with awesome people and in an awesome place. London, a very beautiful city and Goldman Sachs, without doubt, one of the best places to be working in.
It doesn't matter if you are an intern and you know nothing about markets or finance that people is always going to treat you with incredible respect and as a professional. People here are accessible, honest when giving feedback and very very close. What of the things that impresses me most about being here is that from analysts to MD everybody is close and want to help you out with any doubt or question you may have.
As I said before, people in the company from the recruiters to the people in the specific divisions have helped me a lot all throughout the two weeks.
The only bad thing about the internship is that it is too short. You get in touch with thousands of articles and information so it is sometimes difficult to assimilate it all. But it is an outstanding experience and superrecomendable. You learn a lot
The Company
Perfectly. I mean, meanwhile you are explained the different parts of your division, you also have time to spend time with the people on your desk.
Really really comfortable
They invest a lot on us. In economical terms and in personal terms. People worry a lot about what we do, give us constant feedback and want us to grow and to learn. Here everyone (except if he or she is super busy) is always going to try to help you. Investing is not then only in economic terms, but also in time and personal efforts.
I mean, I worked everyday with the people in my team, they are not interns, they work full time. This way it is easier to see what everyone does and how they organize in the "real banking life"
One of the things they put most effort on was that we understood what GS is. They want to make us understand than GS is more than a bank or any other regular place where to go to work. They want you to make you feel how they stress their values and their international character.
I mean, I had It quite clear I wanted to dedicate my life to banking, but after talking to people here, and overall, by seeing the real "thing", in other works, what do people actually do at work, now I am completely sure I love this world and this sector.
Everything Else
more than adequate
All the time, almost every single day you had chances to meet people and to organize catch-ups with people in the firm and with interns
There were not much events like directly denominated "networking", but the 2 or 3 we have had very well organized and carried
Here you do not only get interested by what people do at work, but you also have to get to know what people do outside, their interests... etc
No doubting
