The Role
I had a great time at my placement this summer. It was both professional and fun.
Whenever I would present a piece of work to my colleagues they always provided me with positive feedback and highlighted the amount of effort that I put in. This made me feel like I was part of the team.
Everyone was very helpful regardless of how busy they were. I was given the support and guidance fully whenever I required it. It was excellent.
It depends on how you organize yourself and manage your time. You will almost always have work to do. On average I was quiet busy due to meetings and deliverables.
I was given a lot of responsibility. I had to take full ownership of my project and ensure that it is delivered by the set date. Also, when setting up meetings and calls, I had to make sure that the other person(s) schedule worked mutually with mine, and vice versa.
It has made me much more confident and has allowed me to be more organized with time management.
The Company
It was normally busy, especially mid week. However, people were generally very friendly even when they are busy, and were always willing to help.
It was a very well structured program that kept us all busy. Also promoted out of work activities which was excellent.
The firm invested time in teaching the interns their work ethos and culture. It tailored me to work the way the firm does.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
very appealing.
The Culture
All interns got along very well. We normally had lunch together and were accompanied sometimes by work colleagues. On Friday's we would usually get together for a few drinks after work!
It was quiet expensive.
The Nightlife was really nice in the area. On Friday's most bars and clubs had a very vibrant atmosphere where everyone was having a good time.
The Firm provided many different activities outside of work which I was able to engage in and found to be excellent.
