The Role
Great challenges, good learning experience. A lot of events going on (organised), they seem to be concerned with my overall personal development, not just skills that are directly relevant to my project.
Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and supportive. They are very kind and really make me feel like I fit in the team.
Guidance was given throughout the internship, more so at the beginning. However, help was available practically everywhere, so it's my own initiative to seek support. I could approach pretty much anyone and people were patient in helping me. There's also good online platforms that allow collegues from all over the world to provide support to each other.
It's a good balance. Work is sufficiently challenging but there was never any need for me to stay later than the normal hours to complete work. Sometimes we have multiple events in a day with short (45mins) gap in between. It's too long to just chill and wait, but too short to get back on the productive buzz of the project.
I was given a lot of responsibility in managing my project, I was able to make decisions (which I deem appropriate) throughout the development lifecycle. It made me feel very accomplished to achieve the work I did, and makes me feel like I've made an impact in the workplace.
I have improved a lot of technical skills. I don't think it's directly relevant to my degree studies but it is certainly useful in life and future career progression.
The Company
Very chill and friendly. The office looks really nice which sets a nice atmosphere.
Everything was organised very well. There are lots of events going on to keep me engaged, from breakfast with MD to informational talks about the firm and about new technology. The timing of events were organised well such that it allows me to balance work time on intern group project and individual/main project.
Encouraged and provided me with lots of training. I can go on a training event which may not be directly useful to my current project, but just something I find interesting. There are multiple feedback sessions throughout the internship which help me monitor and improve my developments.
