    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Excellent. The Learning process is somewhat speed up by the constant attention of the supervisor according to each interns, in my case, specifically according to my background and previous courses.

  • Very stimulating international environment, with shifts evry 4-6 months.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was luck that at the time of my placement we were only 8 interns so I received full attention and suggestion, not only on the specific course, rather on life long expectations and introductory to the working atmosphere. Very stimulating.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Full time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, short brakes, and very dynamic atmosphere.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt the load of responsibility it was sometimes over my edge, but it did actually increased my awareness of the tasks and of the expected results.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As a matter of fact, the gained learning and working knowledge will definitely be a tremendous asset for my working and personal life.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • International, quite and relaxed, even though there were present 6 different nationalities; very informal atmosphere facilitating dialogue and getting to know each other.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Good enough. At times there were issue related with overlapping of assignments for team works, but pretty well organized on the overall.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Judging form the attention I personally received in bringing forth the assignments, must say quite a lot.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not many, as the org is mainly a 'volunteer' entity by constituency, winch makes it rather peculiar but interesting as I was really engaged in giving the best of myself without a second goal.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Excellent. May be I was lucky to share the experience with outstanding people, but from what I heard form previous interns, was the usual interaction.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Usual European standard.

  • Not much, but Amsterdam is a 50 minutes ride away!

  • I was suppliued with invitation to parties, conferences, lectures and social meeting addressed to the org.
