The Role
I really enjoyed the work placement, the atmosphere and environment at Goldman Sachs was very friendly and I felt comfortable at all times
I was given important tasks on real projects as well as important projects to manage myself. So i felt very valued by my team and other colleagues
I was given great supervision, support and guidance by my superiors. I never felt uncomfortable asking questions about anything I was unsure of.
I was generally very busy. It forced me to have to balance my time very well
As said before, i was given important tasks to complete on important projects as well as given management responsibilities on real projects.
My degree is very software heavy and my role was very hardware oriented. So I had to learn a lot of new technology very quickly. This helped me to develop skills necessary to grasp complex topics quickly
The Company
Friendly, casual and very amicable
It was run very well with lots of extra events for the placement students.
The firm provided lots of training and has Goldman Sachs University which offers lots of training courses for employees to take

The Culture
Yes, it was a very busy social schedule
London was quite expensive for socialising but the salary offset the increase in cost of living
The nightlife was good, there were always bars that were busy we could go to.
Yes, there were lots of sports teams and social events. I played 5-a-side soccer with other members of the firm
