TV Programming Internship - Disney Channel

The team

The Disney Channel multiplex in the UK is a portfolio of three kid-driven, family-inclusive entertainment channels: the award-winning Disney Channel; boy-focused, girl-inclusive Disney XD and Disney Junior, which targets preschool children aged 2–7 and their families.

Available roles

Presentation Scheduling
The Presentation team is responsible for creating the detailed schedule that collates all programming, promotions and commercial messages. The team are responsible for editorial decision making and creative scheduling. They send daily channel schedules to transmission, ensuring all content is present and correct, and most importantly, placing all promotional elements available strategically, in line with the most appropriate audience so viewers can enjoy watching Disney Channel at home.

Media Planning
The Media Planning team is responsible for coming up with all on air promotional plans and strategy for new Disney Channel programmes and marketing initiatives. This involves contributing to campaign creative, appraising the priority and available airtime in line with other campaigns, and ensuring all deliveries from production are on time and in line with promotional requirements.

On-Air Production
The On-Air Production team assist with the creation of both original and re-versioning creative campaigns – promos, trailers, and continuity elements. They produce original, creative, and innovative and eye catching promo campaigns as well as on-air promotional material within allocated budgets and timescales. You will be a key member of the team, assisting the planning and implementation of on air creative, specifically suited to the Disney audience.

About you

  • MUST be an undergraduate returning to full time education in September 2016
  • MUST have the right to work in the UK
  • Applicants will have a studied or be studying a relevant degree discipline in Production, Marketing or Business studies with a media focus and demonstrate a passion for and knowledge of television, ideally specifically focussed on kid’s trends.
  • Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • A passion problem solving and finding solutions
  • Be passionate about working behind the scenes in an admin heavy role
