Finance Assistant Placement

The Opportunity  

Working as part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team, this placement role will be based at the company’s London Head Office, in Paddington. Alpha is seeking a bright and proactive university student who is looking to join a fast-paced finance team with a collaborative culture that is both challenging and highly rewarding.

Key Responsibilities 

• Assisting with daily reconciliations.
• Processing invoices and managing the process for paying suppliers.
• Assisting with month end by quickly obtaining an understanding of double entry.
• Maintaining the purchase ledger and taking ownership of bookkeeping.
• Monthly financial evaluation and credit assessment of Alpha clients.
• Participate and support in annual audits and budgeting.
• Producing internal exposure analysis to aid the company hedging strategy.
• Assist in the delivery of project work.
• Regular interaction with senior personnel including the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
• Daily monitoring of e-money balances for regulatory capital purposes.
• Exposure to several areas of financial reporting including the Fixed Asset Register and Intangible Assets.

Skills and Experience Required

• Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation.
• Pro-active approach with a mindset of looking for constant improvement in all aspects of their work.
• Energetic and enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude in all aspects of their work.
• An ambitious person eager to continually develop their skillset who will embrace the ongoing change within a fast paced, entrepreneurial high growth business.
• A Level Results: minimum AAB
