Our comprehensive DE&I Strategy works vigorously towards accelerating diversity within our business, paving the way for career progression across all communities, and emerging as a disruptive voice for DE&I change.

What is Discover EY?

Our two-day Discover EY programmes are designed for Year 13/S6 students, and all university undergraduate students to take part in events that give an insight into a career in professional services and showcase an exciting future life at EY. There are three programmes to choose from:

Discover EY — Black Heritage in Business

The Black Heritage in Business programme is aimed at raising awareness with students of Black Heritage. It allows students to develop their skills and strengths and meet inspiring members of our EY Black Network.

Discover EY — Women in Leadership

The Women in Leadership programme is designed to support students to develop into the leaders of tomorrow in Assurance, Tax or Technology under the guidance of our empowered female colleagues.

Discover EY — Social Mobility in Business

Our Social Mobility in Business programme is aimed at raising awareness with students from lower socio-economic backgrounds enabling them to learn more about EY, network with inspiring leaders, and gain an insight into either Assurance, Tax, or Technology.

Please note: by low socio-economic background we mean:

  • Attending / attended a state school or college
  • Your immediate family did not attend university
  • You are (or have been eligible) for free school meals
  • The occupation of your main household earner when you were aged 14 is categorised as a lower socio-economic background – technical and craft occupations; routine, semi-routine manual and service occupations; long-term unemployed

Technical and craft occupations such as: motor mechanic, plumber, printer, electrician, gardener, train driver.

Routine, semi-routine manual and service occupations such as: postal worker, machine operative, security guard, caretaker, farm worker, catering assistant, sales assistant, HGV driver, cleaner, porter, packer, labourer, waiter/waitress, bar staff.

Long-term unemployed (claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance or earlier unemployment benefit for more than a year).

What are the benefits?

Through skills workshops, networking with colleagues and meeting people from our networks and communities, you’ll gain an insight into our exciting company culture and discover where your future could take you in EY. You’ll start to develop the skills and strengths you’ll need for your future career. And that’s not all — attendees who complete the programme can join a further Discover EY experience day and be fast-tracked onto one of our 2024 or 2025 programmes and opportunities.
