Finance Industrial Placement - 2024

The Glencore 2024 Industrial Placement Programme

Designed to accelerate your career in the commodities trading, technology, engineering, or environmental science spheres, this 12 month programme gives talented undergraduates exposure to the world-class people and careers on offer at Glencore. 

This is a fast-paced placement in our London office. You’ll be given your own areas of responsibility and have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the business from day one. 

By the end of the programme, you’ll have developed strong skills in your chosen function. You will also be equipped with the highest level of professionalism, personal ownership and commercial aptitude – skills that are essential to future careers at Glencore.

Industrial placement students may be able to return as full-time team members on our Graduate Programme upon completing their studies, depending on performance and business requirements.

The Finance Placement

The finance team plays a key role in facilitating international trade and commerce whilst also being a critical team for the management of financial risk. 

Whether you will be supporting the operations teams in the final execution of trades, or assisting in the research of key business development opportunities, you will have daily exposure to the commercial team and their work.

Exceptional analytical skills.A flexible approach to problem-solving, with strong decision making capabilities.A demonstrated work ethic, and a high level of accuracy.Strong oral and written communication.A keen interest in Finance or Financial Operations.

We’re looking for driven, talented undergraduate students who are interested in an exciting, challenging career in the commodities sector. 

Working at Glencore requires commercial awareness, adaptability and resilience – and you’ll need to thrive in team environments as well as take initiative independently. 

We look for disciplined people who can demonstrate entrepreneurial ability, thrive on logistical challenges and can provide practical solutions to complex problems using their numerical capabilities.

You must be studying a degree with a year in industry, and successful candidates need to be available to start their placements in July 2024.
