New Business Sales Placement

About this Role

New Business Sales are the lifeblood of any business. In this role, you’ll be part of a high energy, dynamic, and high performing Sales team. Led by senior Business-to-Business Sales experts with years of experience, you’ll gain invaluable skills and knowledge during your year on placement, putting you on track for a successful career in software sales. 

The placements in our Sales team often return to the company following graduation to become stars of the team, so this is a great opportunity for someone serious about a career in sales. All placements are trusted with chief responsibilities, and sales commissions are available to placements that can secure a productive sale. 

The team are close-knit and supportive, whether that’s working remotely or in the office. In our opinion, it’s the best Sales placement role that you’ll find!

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Sales Management/Lead Generation – This will involve scoping and documenting requirements, managing the entire sales cycle, and supporting other sales staff on larger sales where required. You’ll be expected to engage with prospects through different mediums, including phone and email. Plus, you’ll be responsible for driving the number of opportunities, including Free Trials and Onboarding Experiences.
  • Presentations/Demonstrations – A key part of your role will be demonstrating our software to prospective clients. In order to deliver high quality demonstrations, you’ll need to be able to translate customer requirements into efficient and desirable solutions and present these in an appealing, persuasive manner.
  • Building Customer Rapport – Each element of this role is strongly focused on communication with prospects and Free Trialists. You’ll be responsible for managing prospective clients through the entire Free Trial process, right from enquiry to close. Having the ability to build relationships and rapport with clients quickly is a vital skill you’ll adopt in the New Business Sales role.
  • Customer Service – At ProspectSoft, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and every member of staff contributes to this. This involves providing timely answers in a professional and friendly manner that represents the company's core values. 
  • Organisation – It’s imperative that you have excellent organisation skills to ensure you successfully follow desired timescales for prospective clients and internal deadlines. This will require you to liaise and co-ordinate with team members across the business and, most importantly, with the customer.

What you’ll need:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) & interpersonal skills 
  • Motivated by targets & deadlines 
  • Exceptional time management & organisation skills
  • Excellent IT systems knowledge (including email, Excel, Office etc.)
  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service 
  • Enthusiastic approach & positive attitude at all times 
  • Good attention to detail 
  • Ability to solve problems 
  • Completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but won’t have graduated at the start of your placement
