Compliance Placement

LOCATION: Milton Keynes

CLOSING DATE: 4th December 2023

SALARY: £20,000, 27 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, loan car scheme, pension and a discretionary bonus

CONTRACT: June 2024 - June 2025

In this placement, you will support our colleagues who are advising Volkswagen Financial Services in the UK to protect the business from regulatory and compliance risks. 

You will be working within a fast-paced commercial environment, ensuring that strategic and business objectives are supported and delivered, whilst regulatory and compliance risks are monitored and controlled.

What you could be doing:

  • You will maintain and communicate a register of changes to the regulatory landscape
  • You will support the Compliance team with summarising and assessing the impacts of changes by identifying the risks associated with the firm’s business activities
  • Support the management of the compliance policy inbox used for business queries
  • Prepare the monthly committee meeting pack by collating, managing and organising management information from stakeholders across the business
  • You will support the Compliance Team at the monthly committee and take minutes
  • You will assist in the maintenance of a regulatory policy suite to ensure it remains up to date with regulatory requirements and ensure that it is effectively communicated to staff, supporting the annual policy review

What can you bring with you?

  • You will be enrolled at a University which offers a 1 year industrial placement
  • You will be studying towards a Law or Business related degree however, if this is the career you wish to pursue we would be flexible on this
  • You demonstrate a basic understanding of regulatory principles, sources and interpretation
  • You’re able to learn and apply new or unfamiliar knowledge, using your own initiative
  • You take a methodical, analytical and disciplined approach to work
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • You have a strong focus on detail and accuracy
  • Excellent PC skills, especially MS Office applications such as Excel and Word

What to expect from the assessment process:

You will then be invited to complete an online video interview where you have the opportunity to tell us about you and your amazing qualities. 

If you are successful after completing your video interview, you will be invited to attend an assessment centre at our Milton Keynes offices. Here, you will complete a Competency Based Interview, deliver a Presentation and take part in a Group Exercise. We’ll provide you with appropriate support and guidance before you attend.
