Purchasing Placement
The purchasing intern will be responsible for the complete purchasing process for the whole supply chain phase for purchasing of general services and contracts related to Swisslog’s daily operations. You will be responsible for all cost centre purchases and will support project purchasing and CS purchasing support, ensuring at all times the purchasing process is followed to international and local purchasing strategies. The function is responsible for the complete procurement process of all cost centre purchasing, achieving the targets of quality, cost and delivery time.
The purchasing intern will follow procurement strategy and policy, analyse processes and their quality, performance and propose improvements. This includes collecting, analysing and communicating the findings and the suggested improvements. Take the lead for indirect and CS material and negotiate with suppliers and place purchase orders. The purchasing intern will be following SAP rules and guidelines, proactively contributing to the key user forum for all purchasing processes, alongside giving input for developing and optimizing SAP reports.
To be effective the role requires participation in the overall purchasing process. Applicants must communicate openly, effectively and consistently with all stakeholder groups and focus on customer needs and customer satisfaction.
