What you will be responsible for:

You will report into the Controls Accountant and contribute to the production and follow up of a number of key monthly control balance sheet reconciliations to support the product portfolio and the investigation of balances and reconciling items. A large part of the role will be to support the Accounting Controls team members with the emphasis on learning the financial products we support, and the systems used. This will create the opportunity for cross functional working with other departments and stakeholder management will be essential

• You will complete all relevant Balance Sheet reconciliations in a timely manner, providing summarised information for the management team
• Carrying out month end tasks, including analysis in accordance with the month end timetable
• You will understand the interaction and impact of subsidiary systems on the main accounting systems to ensure system integrity, particularly in relation to specific Balance Sheet and Profit & loss accounts, highlighting issues as necessary
• You will assist with accounting initiatives and collaborate with your colleagues across the department and in IT to ensure clarity of issues/requirements for changes relating to accounting transactions
• Carrying out analysis to deliver operational and management information to a variety of audiences
• Supporting your colleagues within the Accounting Controls Team as required

About you:

• You will be studying towards a Finance or Business related degree
• An intermediate level of excel skills will really help with the reporting and analysis
• You have the ability to work under pressure and deliver to strict deadlines
• Team player who communicates clearly both verbally and written
• You have an eye for detail and focus on accuracy
