Outsourcing Assistant

The role

We are seeking 2 Outsourcing Assistants to work in our London office. This will be within the Business Services Group, a team who deal predominantly with clients in the sports, media and entertainment industries. The role is a fixed term contract of 13 months starting in July/August 2022, and would suit a placement student seeking experience within a firm of accountants.

The candidate would be responsible for providing support to the team, and working on a variety of clients’ bookkeeping, accounting and VAT affairs.

The role will entail processing accounting transactions onto Xero and occasionally other accounting software packages, performing bank reconciliations, preparing payment runs on behalf of clients, and assisting with the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts.

The role reports to the Outsourcing and Accounts Director.

The individuals

For the time being we cannot accept applications from candidates who require a visa to work in the UK after graduating.

Candidates will have strong numeracy and accuracy skills, along with the ability to learn quickly. A good knowledge of Excel would be preferable, and knowledge of Xero is essential. Understanding of other accounting systems, including cloud-based systems such as Hubdoc, Dext Prepare and QuickBooks Online would be helpful, but is not an essential requirement as training will be provided.

The ideal candidates should be hard working, show initiative and be self-motivated, with the ability to organise their own workload. They should also demonstrate the ability to cope with repetitive tasks. They will display a flexible, professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients. They will also be natural team players with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and an excellent eye for detail.

Education and experience

The candidates should be educated to A level standard, with a minimum of 120 UCAS points. As the positions are ideally for placement students, we would expect that the candidate should have completed at least 2 years of a relevant university degree course and their final year to be completed after the placement.

  • Paid overtime or time off in lieu.
  • Group Personal Pension Scheme: under the requirements of pension auto-enrolment you will be automatically enrolled into the Group Personal Pension scheme (4% employer contribution, 4% employee contribution) from your date of joining.

  • Life assurance cover of four times salary under the Reward Centre flexible benefits programme.
