Sales and Trading Summer Analyst

What to expect

Your internship starts with intensive training to give you an essential platform for gaining skills and knowledge. Then, you’ll rotate through different sales and trading desks across asset classes. You’ll learn through involvement in real challenges such as: researching and reporting, monitoring markets to formulate trade ideas, analyzing data and attending client meetings. All with our full support to help you succeed.

Quantitative Analytics and Electronic Trading Summer Associate

What to expect

Our Quantitative Analysts are an integral part of the bank, providing model development, analytics and expert advice across many business areas at Barclays. Applying to our programme means the opportunity to join one of our specialist teams, including:

  • Trading Models - Modellers and developers responsible for researching, innovating, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting all quantitative models used for valuation and risk management across all asset classes, valuation adjustments and the capitalisation of market and counterparty risk.
  • Electronic Trading - Quantitative traders, researchers, and data scientists responsible for developing, deploying and running algorithmic trading models and predictive analytics in markets, leveraging the latest methods in data science, machine learning, AI and applied probability.
  • Quant Developers - Strong logical thinkers and problem solvers with a mathematical mindset and an interest in Computer Science, who can program in one or more of our languages (primarily Java, C++ and Python).
  • You’ll gain the widest exposure to a variety of modelling techniques and instruments to help drive business strategy. This is your opportunity to gain invaluable exposure to real world problems by working on cutting edge quantitative and technology solutions. You’ll develop specialist expertise by helping deliver solutions that improve everything from the way we price derivatives, develop, deploy and run algorithmic trading models, and build strategies to manage risk.

Public Finance Summer Analyst

What to expect

Your internship starts with intensive training to give you an essential platform for gaining skills and knowledge. After that, you’ll join our team and work with expert colleagues on real projects. These might include live transactions, preparing marketing materials, analyzing cash flow, creating credit models and debt profiles, and researching and analyzing market data to share insights with clients. You’ll play an active role, and your work will have real impact.

Quantitative Analytics Summer Associate

What to expect

Following initial training, you’ll join our expert team, helping deliver intricate solutions across a wide range of projects. Your work will be highly technical, and could see you tackling challenges such as applying quantitative techniques to solve real world business problem, researching, developing and implementing new models and solutions, and improving our computing or data infrastructure.

Markets Risk and Control Summer Analyst

What to expect

Starting with initial training, we’ll give you an essential platform for gaining skills and knowledge about the market, Barclays’ products and the financial regulatory landscape as a whole. Working with a number of teams, you’ll carry out risk and control assessments and get involved in developing new standards, tools and procedures. You’ll develop a solid understanding of the technologies that will transform the industry.
