Programme Planner Summer Internship

Duration: 6 weeks (July – August)

You’ll have either just completed your second year as an undergraduate or your third year moving onto a Masters degree.

We’re changing up the future

We’re on a mission to build the UK’s finest digital infrastructure and unleash Britain’s potential. We’re connecting communities, boosting businesses, and giving everyone access to superfast broadband. We’re also changing up the industry - we might be growing fast but we still behave like a start-up, with an open and inclusive environment where people can be themselves, speak up and make time for what matters.

What’s in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead on and deliver a project within a specific division at CityFibre. You’ll get invaluable hands-on work experience, learning from our talented people whilst still adding real value to the business and helping us to transform communities across the UK.

We’re also offering a competitive salary which will be pro-rata across a six-week period.

What will you be doing?

As CityFibre extends its Full Fibre footprint beyond City build boundaries and into semi-rural and rural areas, this focus of this placement opportunity will be to help define the cross-functional delivery activities and milestones into a single programme plan. You’ll bring your skills and experience in planning and communications to produce a programme plan, focused on key rural and urban expansion.

You’ll be working with the internal programmes team to pull together the key information to include in the plan such as key deliverables, dependencies and risks. The aim is for this plan to really tell a story, making it engaging to our key internal stakeholders and addressing some of their specific needs.

What will you bring to the role?

You’ll be on track for a 2:1 (or have already received this grade if you’re moving on to a Masters) in either Project / Programme Management or Digital Communications. We’re also looking for you to have the confidence to use project planning tools and IT packages such as Teams and Zoom, great communication and listening skills and the ability to take an analytical approach to tasks.

Our unique culture

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer; we celebrate diversity, we believe everyone has a voice and we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. Even though we come from different backgrounds and do different jobs, we’re united by The CityFibre Way - our unique code of behaviours that inspires how we think, act and work. We back each other, think smart and act fast, and we’re passionate about giving it our best to build a legacy together.
