What is the role?

We are looking for two Intern Systems Engineers to join our internship programme to work within a highly experienced and motivated technical sales team of around 45 engineers. This team is responsible for the positioning and sale of Fortinet Security solutions within our customers.

The main role of the intern would be to assist in the day-day operations of the UK & Ireland (UKI) Systems Engineering function.

The duties and responsibilities will increase as the skills develop, but would include:

• Rotation through the technical sales teams to gain experience and real-world insight of all verticals including Enterprise, Public Sector and Service Provider
• Involvement in maintaining Customer Experience Labs in London / Reading
  • Develop and maintain lab documentation
  • Developing scripts to increase lab efficiency
  • Operational capabilities including maintaining s/w currency and demonstrations
  • Develop and implement customer demonstrations
• Work with System Engineers to deliver a successful Fortinet Experience to our customers
  • Customer demonstrations
  • Proof of Concept customer evaluations
  • Participate in Fortinet updates, including working with other departments within Fortinet
• Research topics of interest, extracting relevant points and presenting this back to the SE community

The successful candidate can expect to learn and develop relevant Security skills, Fortinet product specific skills and exposure to leading edge security products. This will be through a combination of on-the-job training, more formal on-line training (NSE) and industry recognised certification, in addition to attendance at company events and seminars.

Required Skills:

• The student should be a 2nd Year Undergraduate Student studying a relevant degree with a strong Network Security or cybersecurity component to the syllabus
• Basic Networking knowledge is essential
• A-Level Computing Science or similar would be desirable
• Strong interest in Network and Cybersecurity

Other Information:

• Main location would be in London with periodic travel to Reading Office
• Occasional travel to customer site across UK & Ireland
