2021 Summer & Autumn Analyst - Compliance Placement

Programme Details

This internship position will run for 6 months from June 2021 to December 2021 and will be located in the Compliance UK department which is responsible for identifying and assessing regulatory requirements for the UK business segments (Capital Markets, Investor and Treasury Services and Wealth Management) as well as providing oversight that these businesses are meeting their regulatory obligations from a Business Conduct, Market Conduct and Privacy standpoint.

The Regulatory Compliance team is part of RBC Group Risk Management and consists of the following teams: Front Office Advisory; Testing; Surveillance; Compliance Chief Operating Office and Employee Compliance, Regulatory Change and Privacy.

Learning from experience

This role will undertake a number of rotations across the teams within Compliance and will learn about the department and its function as well as providing support to these teams in the execution of their duties. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • To support and gain a good understanding of the Compliance department by completing on-the-desk, classroom-based and e-learning training
  • Support governance and reporting activities for the department
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and duties as required
  • Support team on a daily basis, completing projects and tasks for various team members

What do we look for?

  • Predicted 2:1 or above Undergraduate University degree
  • Recent graduates or final year students that will be available for 6 months of full time work from June 2021
  • Ability to multi task and work to set deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to build strong long lasting working relationships
  • Advanced proficiency with MS office programmes
