Scientist Placement - Human Testing

13 Month Student Placement Opportunity (aimed at applicants currently undertaking a relevant degree)

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside our industry leading scientists in our GLP/GCP and ISO accredited laboratories. You will gain a wide range of practical laboratory skills which are supported by our in-house training. There is also the potential for employment after graduation!

We use a variety of sample preparation techniques (including SPE and LLE) and instrumental analysis techniques (mostly LCMS and GCMS) to analyse a variety of human matrices (including urine, blood and hair) for the presence of drugs of abuse.

You will be trained to work alongside our experienced scientists, preparing samples for analysis. You will learn how to use and trouble shoot the instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

Working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, you will be involved in both routine sample analysis and method development primarily.

Person specification:

• Studying towards a Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related subject
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
• Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Highly motivated
• Willing to get involved with new ideas and initiatives
