Product Management Intern

We’re looking for one product management intern to join us for ten weeks starting in July 2021.

Redgate aspires to be the best place you’ll ever work, let alone intern. We strongly believe being an intern isn’t about watching people working, it’s about doing real work from day one, on things that make a real difference.

As a fully-fledged member of Product Management, you’ll be embedded into a development team to work on live product opportunities, talking to real users, and shipping real product to paying customers. As a result, you’ll experience how our development teams go about creating software and the role of product management in that.

You’ll join a small team made up of engineers, a technical lead, designer, and product manager. You might work on an early pre-release problem, or help refine a solution that ships to thousands of users in hours after its release.

You will have a dedicated mentor to help you through your internship, answer any questions, and make sure you have a great time.

To learn more about what it’s like to work at Redgate, take a look at our RateMyPlacement page, or our company blog.

To apply, simply upload your CV and covering letter or get in touch if you’d like to talk to us first.

We anticipate that the internship will be fully remote in 2021.

What we’ll offer you

  • The chance to work with like-minded individuals who are passionate about elegant commercial software
  • Experience working on real opportunities with real stakeholders, learning how commercial concerns influence our output
  • Real autonomy to work independently on an agile team and make decisions, with plenty of support
  • We’ll meet with you regularly to review your work and give you constructive feedback about how to improve

What makes you Redgate’s next Product Management intern?

  • You’re at least a year into your university degree, studying a relevant discipline.
  • You have some familiarity with the product management discipline, and how it interacts with other functions
  • You have a profound understanding of the value of teamwork
  • You’re able to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • You have a genuine passion for solving customer problems, but are able to balance those against wider commercial goals

What would help?

  • Some examples of your work or experience which demonstrate your interest in software, product management, and commercial execution

What’s the package?

  • You’ll be working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours
  • You’ll receive £380 per week
  • You’ll start in July for a minimum of ten weeks over the summer holiday

You’ll also get some great Redgate benefits, including:

  • A relaxed and professional environment
  • No dress code
  • Regular social activities and events with fellow Redgaters and interns

About Redgate

This is the most exciting time there’s ever been to work in the software space in general and the database world specifically. Continuous delivery practices, once the domain of Agile developers who were pushing the envelope of software development, have moved into the enterprise. The database needs to keep up too and at Redgate we’re making it possible.

We make ingeniously simple software used by 650,000 IT professionals working on the Microsoft data platform. More than 100,000 companies use our products, including 91% of the Fortune 100. Our philosophy is to design highly usable, reliable software which elegantly solves the problems developers and database administrators face every day.

We’re privately owned and employ about 230 people in Cambridge, Pasadena and Austin. We’ve been repeatedly recognised as one of the UK’s best employers, and we’re ranked as one of the best internships in the country by Rate My Placement for a scheme of our size.
