Business Risk Placement

Contract: June 2021- June 2022

Working within our Internal Control Systems (ICS) function, you will support in providing a central service to the whole VWFS UK organisation, and form a key part in developing a positive approach to risk and compliance management within the Company’s business strategy. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure and understanding across the whole business. 

The team ensures that we manage our processes and practices in line with the highest standards, and that the business is supported with the best advice in each specialist area. As VWFS becomes more diverse and the regulatory environment continues to change, the team has never been more important to our success. 

About the role

A great opportunity if you are studying a Business related degree and looking to be a part of a fast paced and evolving team during your placement year. You will: 

• Assess the impact of new legislation and regulations on the firm’s business activities.
• Participate on key business projects
• Work with the team to ensure a consistent delivery of regulatory services to the company
• Support the production of relevant management information for senior management
• You will support the team in ensuring that VWFS has:
  • an appropriate Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework in place which is embedded into the organisation
  • an effective business continuity capability
  • appropriate and compliant anti-financial crime processes
  • an appropriate framework of compliance policies and controls for assessing and monitoring compliance risk

About you

• Studying towards a Business related degree
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
• Resilient and self-motivated with the capability to work under own initiative
• Ability to learn and apply new or unfamiliar knowledge quickly
• Methodical, analytical and disciplined approach to work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Excellent PC skills, especially MS Office applications such as Excel and Word.
• Demonstrates an understanding of regulatory principles, sources and interpretation
