Outsourcing Assistant (Accountancy Placement)

We are seeking 2 Outsourcing Assistants to work in our London office. This will be within the Business Services Group, a team who deal predominantly with clients in the sports, media and entertainment industries. The role is a fixed term contract of 13 months starting in July / August 2020, and would suit a placement student seeking experience within a firm of accountants.

The candidate would be responsible for providing support to the team, and working on a variety of clients’ bookkeeping, accounting and VAT affairs.

The role will entail processing accounting transactions onto Xero, Sage 50 and various other accounting software packages, performing bank reconciliations, preparing payment runs on behalf of clients, and assisting with the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts.

The role reports to the Outsourcing and Accounts Director.

The individuals

Candidates will have strong numeracy and accuracy skills, along with the ability to learn quickly. A good knowledge of Excel would be preferable, and any knowledge of Xero, Sage 50 or other accounting software packages would be helpful, although training will be provided.

The ideal candidates should be hard working, show initiative and be self-motivated, with the ability to organise their own workload. They should also demonstrate the ability to cope with repetitive tasks. They will display a flexible, professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients. They will also be natural team players with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and an excellent eye for detail.

Education and experience

The candidates should be educated to A level standard, with a minimum of 120 UCAS points. As the positions are ideally for placement students, we would expect that the candidate should have completed at least 2 years of a relevant university degree course.

Salary/benefits

  • Annual salary (market rate) depending upon experience.
  • Paid overtime or time off in lieu.
