Finance Placement

Collins Aerospace is a global leader in aerospace and defence. There are few – if any – aircraft around which don’t have our equipment in them somewhere.

This means you will get great exposure to how a Finance Team strives to provide a best in class support service to over 330 employees. For someone who’s bright, switched on and willing to learn, it’s the best possible place to begin a career within the Finance function.

We are looking to offer an undergraduate an opportunity to join us in a 12 month Industrial Placement to work within a dedicated professional Finance Team. The placement will provide direct exposure to:

  • Preparation of daily and weekly finance Key Performance Indicators for the site, including daily hours, overtime, sales reporting, inventory reconciliation etc.
  • Warranty processing and cost/recharge analysis
  • Inter-company invoice coding and processing
  • Completion of National Statistics forms
  • Inter-company account reconciliations
  • Debtor and Creditor Analysis
  • Preparation of monthly journals and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain clean audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, together with the completion of the associated statutory returns
  • Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace accounting policies and procedures in line with US GAAP
  • General support to the finance department as required.

We’re looking for a student who has a genuine interest in the Finance function (ideally with appropriate Finance course modules).

This is an ideal opportunity for a positive minded individual to gain ‘hands on experience’ in a fast paced environment.

Basic Qualifications

Undergraduate studying accounting/ business studies etc.

You must be:

  • Self-Motivated individual
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise own work
  • Highly computer literate (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Must display initiative and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The position has a competitive salary along with 25 days paid annual holiday.

IMPORTANT: Candidates must be able to commit to the full 12 month placement (apart from the above holidays).
