Digital Marketing Placement - Transformation/Education

The Medical Affairs Digital team you’ll join is a part of the Research & Innovation team and in this role you will be working with the Digital and Medical Education teams. We support the development and deployment of a novel and disruptive digital model focused on the creation of value and meaningful outcomes for stakeholders and patients through scientific exchange, insights gathering and data generation. The team also works to develop a world leading and pioneering strategy to deliver medical education outside of the business to our customers.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting digital and medical education projects that will help drive our company’s scientific engagement transformation model. This provides an outstanding opportunity to learn about the dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry and the major competitor companies within, which will build a strong foundation for success in your future.

A Day in the Life of a Digital Marketing and Medical Education Placement Student & Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with key people leading the digital transformation initiatives within medical affairs
  • Develop partnerships & work with cross functional teams including medical affairs, business insights, business operations, marketing, creative and legal
  • Project manage new and current digital innovations and medical education projects within medical affairs
  • Support the Creation, development and approval of non-promotional medical education content for our Connect platform and webcasts, using UX and UI principles
  • Collaborate with multiple therapy area medical teams in the filming, directing and editing of videos in either our own in-house AV studio or with external agencies.
  • Support with the development of the evolving digital strategy
  • Support the development and deployment of remote interactions through webcasting and virtual events
  • Support our healthcare scientific digital communication channels (web-based and mobile) as they play a critical role in our non-promotional and scientific strategies
  • Make tactical recommendations to the team through digital data and customer insights
  • Lead on team internal communications through monthly internal highlights
  • Complete user efficiency and compliance auditing

Work Experience

  • Working in marketing, digital marketing or medical education-based disciplines
  • Entering your third or penultimate year of study, returning to your degree course at the end of the placement
  • Minimum B grade in marketing and/or business studies A level

Key Capabilities/Skills

  • Ability to communicate accurately both verbally and in writing
  • Strong understanding of marketing fundamentals
  • Strong organisation and project management skills
  • Team player, learning from and helping others overcome obstacles
  • Strong sense of urgency takes initiative to do things without being asked
  • Has a can-do attitude, anticipates problems and proposes solutions, approaches work challenges creatively with fresh ideas
  • Listens and adapts to improve
  • A self-starter who can be relied upon to work without supervision
  • Experience on Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint (required); MS Project, BI and Visio
  • Interest in education, and ‘thinks outside the box’ for sharing knowledge and improving the user experience across digital interfaces

Successful applicants will be provided with a formal job offer shortly after the final interview. You will also receive a handover period with the current placement student to ensure you are best prepared for the role.
