Corporate Responsibility Placement

Following the successful growth of our corporate internship programme, we are looking to hire an Intern within our Corporate Responsibility department. This is a brand new role that will support the activation and management of our corporate responsibility strategy for both our 500+ hotels and corporate operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa, for a 12 month period.

A bit about the team

Through Travel with Purpose, Hilton’s corporate responsibility strategy, Hilton is on a mission to double social impact and cut environmental footprint in half by 2030. To achieve this, the Corporate Responsibility team is focused on collaborating and developing impactful strategies across the enterprise. This effort spans a wide spectrum, from waste reduction and responsible sourcing initiatives, to community volunteering and inclusive growth programs. Some recent examples include reducing single-use plastics in our hotel and corporate operations, supporting the hiring and training of refugees, and investing $200,000 in social and environmental impact projects.

A bit about the job

As an intern, you will be an integral part of the team and will play an active role in our continued success. We will rely on you to help us coordinate, analyse and communicate our impact. Some of the more specific responsibilities you will be taking on are detailed as follows;

  • Coordinating calls, providing day-to-day administrative support and helping to organise departmental meetings and conferences.
  • Analysing and summarising data from LightStay, Hilton’s award-winning social and environmental management platform, to help measure hotel performance and engagement in Travel with Purpose (TwP).
  • Developing surveys in relation to TwP and analysing results as required.
  • Assisting with the communication of corporate responsibility highlights from across the Hilton portfolio. This might include summarising TwP best practices, managing translation requirements, and communicating key TwP initiatives with internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting on a range of different TwP projects, including team member volunteering activities, sustainable meetings & events and speaking opportunities.
  • Drafting and preparing communications including presentations, briefings, memos, newsletters and webinars.
  • Assisting with invoicing and budget management as required by the department

What are we looking for?

As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet in order to be considered for this amazing opportunity. These are detailed as follows;

  • Must be in your second year of undergraduate study at the point of application
  • Must be able to start in June or July 2020 and available for the full 12 months.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. If you are a non-EU national then you will need to be studying at a UK university in order to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
  • Able to demonstrate a genuine passion for social responsibility and sustainability.
  • Business level fluency in English, with excellent written communication skills in particular.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to build spreadsheets in Excel, format documents in Word, and prepare PowerPoint presentations as required by the department.
  • Able to appreciate a range of different international working cultures and contexts.
