Hilton Work Perks

In addition to a competitive salary you will receive a range of excellent benefits - probably the best of which is our Go Hilton Team Member Travel Program. This provides you with access to heavily reduced hotel room rates for you, your family & friends. Perfect for the holiday savvy intern!

In our Watford office you will also benefit from a subsidised canteen, free in-house gym and a games room. You will be part of a cohort of approximately 30 Interns who are spread across various departments, and will be involved in our unique intern programme. This includes monthly meetings and assignments which are designed to support your development.

As an Intern, you will be an integral part of the team and will play an active role in supporting all communications activities across EMEA. You will spend six months supporting our Team Member and Executive Communications, and a further six months supporting our PR and external facing media work. Some of the more specific responsibilities you will be taking on are detailed as follows;

  • Coordinating internal and external campaigns, including press announcements covering topics such as new hotel signings and openings, corporate responsibility initiatives, Great Place to Work rankings, and creative campaigns to mark specific company milestones and announcements
  • Drafting internal and external content, including executive memos and intranet articles, spokesperson briefs, Q&As and press releases
  • Supporting with corporate and consumer press office enquiries to tell our story to media and protect our reputation, co-ordinating teams to ensure timely responses to media requests
  • Creating and distributing activity reports across consumer and corporate teams to demonstrate campaign performance
  • Updating and managing communications calendars
  • Supporting video content production
  • Providing organisational support to the communications department as required
  • Helping to organise Team Member events at our corporate offices and hotels

What are we looking for?

As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet in order to be considered for this amazing opportunity. These are detailed as follows;

  • Must be in your second or final year of undergraduate study at the point of application
  • Must be able to start in July 2020, and available for the full 12 months.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. If you are a non-EU national then you will need to be studying at a UK university in order to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
  • A degree with a focus on communications and PR is helpful but not essential.
  • The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in communication (both internal and external) as well as travel and hospitality.
  • A candidate with good knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Excel, and a pro-active and organised approach is highly sought after for this role.
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail is a must for this role
